Toddler Teeth Development

The first set of baby teeth (they tend to appear in pairs!) usually come in around the six to 12-month mark, and this pattern will continue until your child has 20 teeth in total. The process usually wraps up around age three, but like with everything else, some children start sooner or later and take more or less time than others.
What Is Teething?

“Teething” is a cute-sounding word that causes many veteran parents to wince. It’s the process where a child’s baby teeth are erupting and pushing on their gums. As you can imagine, this can lead to some discomfort and fussiness that the entire household will know about. But, our dentists can give you plenty of tips and tricks to soothe your child (and yourself) so that this transition is smooth for everyone.
How to Clean Your Toddler’s Teeth and Gums

After you’ve managed to catch and wrangle your little one, use a child-sized toothbrush and a rice-sized amount of toothpaste to brush their teeth for about two minutes, spending roughly 30 seconds in each quadrant of their mouth. Then, if they have any teeth that are touching, gently floss between them. Ideally, you should be brushing their teeth twice a day and flossing once in the evening before bed.
